Celebrate reading with the Library and Oakland Schools during Black History Month! New York Times bestselling author, Kwame Alexander, will join virtually to share stories and ideas that inspire readers. As a bonus, we’ll give away copies of the author’s books to a few lucky attendees! The Oakland Schools African American Read-In event is part of a county-wide celebration of reading and culture.
