Whether your child is 8 or 28, your support matters—especially if your child is queer. This virtual workshop offers practical guidance to help you better understand and support your child.

You’ll hear from a panel of experts including two parents of a transgender daughter who serve as board members of PFLAG Detroit, and a licensed therapist who works with LGBTQ+ youth and families. They’ll share advice on talking with family members, understanding your child’s needs, and showing up in ways that truly help.

To make the session as relevant as possible, the presentation will be shaped by responses to an anonymous 2-question survey. Please complete the survey by November 3 to help guide the conversation. Click here to complete the survey.

The workshop will be held via Zoom in webinar format (attendees won’t be seen or heard). Attendees may ask questions in the chat, which will be answered at the end of the presentation. The presentation will be recorded and shared to the Library’s YouTube channel, but the Q&A will not.
