No registration required

We will have eclipse glasses available starting Monday, April 8 at 1:30pm. Limit 2 per household. While supplies last.

Join us for the (almost) total solar eclipse!

Patrons are welcome to take the glasses home or to view the eclipse at the library. Patrons may stand in front of the library on the grass, sidewalk, or by the fountain at our FCL Farmington Hills location. For everyone's safety, we request those viewing the eclipse not stand in, block, or otherwise impede the entrance, ramp, roundabout, parking lot, or any areas where vehicle or foot traffic may be present.

For those of in Farmington/Farmington Hills, the eclipse will begin at 1:58pm. It will peak at 3:13pm. At its peak, we will see 98% of the sun covered  by the moon. It will end at 4:27pm.

Cloudy/Rain Backup

The weather forecast indicates that it will be in the upper 50's and partially cloudy. Hopefully we will be able to see some or all of the eclipse. If it is too cloudy or rains, we we have arranged to show NASA's live stream of the eclipse from TX on the big screen in the Auditorium.

We hope you will join us for this rare celestial event. The next one won't be until 2044!
