Library events are always free to the public and you do not need a library card to attend!

The Farmington Community Library has two locations. This event will be held in the Meeting Room at the FCL Farmington location at 23500 Liberty St., Farmington, MI 48335.

Did you know that fungi have a kingdom of their own? Join Lorenzo Lo Piccolo to learn about these intriguing organisms. The program will cover topics such as: 

  1. Introduction to the fungi kingdom
  2. Foraging tips and sustainability
  3. Fungi identification and safety
  4. Discuss specific Michigan species throughout the seasons

The presentation will reference curated fungi samples.

Lorenzo Lo Piccolo has been foraging and studying fungi since the early 2000s. He holds a Wild Mushrooms Foraging Certification from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and closely follows mycological developments throughout the country and the world.
